British researchers found that increased consumption of beta-carotene from 1.7 to 2.7 milligrams per day reduced the risk of lung cancer by more than 40%. Carrot (an average) contains about 3 milligrams of beta-carotene.
A study conducted by researchers found that carrots reduced the risk of colon cancer by as much as 24% as they contain fiber. Other study revealed that women who ate raw carrots were 5 to 8 times less likely to develop breastfeeding cancer than those who didn't.
